Taking Flight

     I love God winks and He sure gave me a good one today!  They are such an assurance to me at just the right moment to see God working in my life.    

     So, we’ve planned for 2 years, making packing list after packing list and placing order after order from Amazon every time we find some new thing that we need to take on this epic adventure.  Of course, there’s some trepidation when you think of  leaving behind dear family and friends for 9 months.  

     After we boarded our flight out of Arkansas, I put on my headphones to listen to music.  I chose my favorite playlist and set it to shuffle.  Sitting back to relax, I also started playing a game on my phone while waiting to take off.  I wasn’t paying attention to the plane’s movements or even the songs playing, but suddenly realized we were revving up to takeoff.  Imagine my surprise when I became aware the song playing as we took off was Michael Buble’s “Take You Away.”  The lyrics were, “Start packing your bags, we’ve got a plane to catch, Let’s travel the globe, we’re leaving today.”   Definitely a God wink, not a random circumstance!  This God wink released any anxiety I had going into this trip and I’m looking forward to the ways God will lead me to serve Him in the next 9 months.  God is so good and you just have to be aware of those moments when He shows Himself in your everyday life.
