Lombok, Indonesia Photo Gallery
Some first sights of Indonesia.
This part of Indonesia is predominantly Muslim. We were surprised at the number of mosques there were. Driving through the country you could see 2 or 3 at the same time.
Another mosque we could see sailing into port.
The weaver who helped me weave a little.
There were several ladies weaving here.
Snake fruit, named this because its outside resembles a snake skin. Out of 3 fruit we tried, although we liked it, this was out least favorite.
Mangosteen-Our favorite of the three.
Rambutan-Our 2nd favorite out of the 3 we tried.
We visited an traditional village of the Sasak Tribe, the native people of Lombok. This is a crop storage building.
Inside one of the Sasak huts, looking uo the steps into their kitchen area. All the huts are made exactly alike.
