Hong Kong, China Photo Gallery
The first morning in Hong Kong was quite hazy.
We walked through what is called a "wet market." It was very interesting to see.
Fish and shrimp at the market.
Do you see the reason it's called a "wet market"? There are live animals for sell in water tanks.
Vegetables at the wet market.
Meat at the wet market.
Fruit at the wet market.
Our lunch spot where we ate delicious dim sum.
These are old trams the locals call ding dings, because they are always ringing their bell as a warning. We rode in one.
Margaret riding on the 2nd level of the ding ding. Brian's back there, too.
On the Ding, Ding Tram. Gwen's up in the front corner taking photos.
While Brian stands on the tram.
A busy Hong Kong street .
The Central-Mid Level Escalator, the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world. We rode on that, too.
They are building scaffolds and it's all made out of bamboo. We found that fascinating.
This used to be a prison, but it's been refurbished to a museum and art gallery.
They locked me up in the prison!!
This was my favorite art. They looked like flowers floating in the air.
We came up the escalator, but now had the steps on the way back down.
I enjoyed seeing and experiencing the subway system.
Doug and Margaret with Malaika, the college student we hired to take us around the city. We had a lot of fun with her. She started riding these subways by herself when she was 9 years old.
The Lady's Market.
What are they looking at? Puppies and kittens. The pet shops are very popular in Hong Kong.
I can't get over this fish market! The street was lined with shops like this one.
More fish-buy them by the bag.
This is the most beautiful aquarium that I have ever seen. It actually had green & red plants growing in it and looked like a terrarium.
A fish statue in the fish market area.
Walking down the crowded streets of Hong Kong.
I liked this pink building, Pioneer Centre. It has shopping and offices.
Langham Place Office Tower.
Where we took a break in the afternoon.
Getting ready for Easter-cute little bunnies.
The bakery cakes looked so good.
A mall called K11.
My noodle dish, that we almost had to wash dishes to pay for. It's a story.
The 2nd day in Hong Kong was clearer, but still not a blue sky day.
Another skyline from the 2nd day.
Hong Kong Junk Boat.
This construction was near the cruise terminal, but there's a lot of construction all around!
From the ship looking towards Kowloon Peak.
The terminal is so nice with green areas on top.
Almost sunset in Hong Kong.
Our captain said that in the 50yrs that he's been sailing that his never been invited to sail through Victoria Harbor, between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. We did this after sunset to enjoy all the lights of the city.
All the buildings are lit up.
The Hong Kong Junk Boat at night.
I loved all the colors reflecting in the water.
Hong Kong has over 350 skyscrapers, more than any other city in the world.
Brian's favorite.
