Dingle Peninsula, Ireland Photo Gallery
Our first stop was Inch Beach where you can drive your car on the beach.
No swimming for us here as it was too cold for us, but we did see a few in the water.
On the Slea Head Drive heading to Dun Chaoin (Dunquin Pier). The dotted yellow lines on both sides of the road means that there is 2-way traffic here, but it's not that wide.
The scenic views were spectacular!
The narrow road down to Dun Chaoin (Dunquin Pier). I was told sheep come up and down this road going back and forth to the Great Blasket Island on a ferry.
At the cliffs at Dun Chaoin (Dunquin Pier). It was stunning!
Still at Dun Chaoin (Dunquin Pier).
More cliff photos at Dun Chaoin (Dunquin Pier). There were many warning signs here about the dangers of getting too close to the edge of the cliffs.
Huge rocks at Dun Chaoin (Dunquin Pier).
At Ceann Stratha-Sybil Head across the bay was a major location in the Star Wars VIII film. The 3 Sisters are to the right in the photo.
Gallarus Oratory-Built around the 7th or 8th century , it's one of the best preserved early Christian churches in Ireland and a very fine example of the ancient dry stone construction.
Brian in from of the Gallarus Oratory, so you can see how small it really is.
Inside the church, which has 1 window and 1 door.
See how the stones are stacked so close together with no mortar. They also slant outward, so rain drains out and not into the building.
In the village of Dingle. These big trackers were seen frequently by us on the roads of Ireland.
A Dingle colorful street.
Dingle harbor.
A beautiful view of the green hills!
