Trieste, Italy Photo Gallery
A port view of Trieste with a clock tower.
Looking from the ship to the Unity of Italy Square and Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi Opera House.
I think this might be Poseidon on top of this building.
The other statue on the building, but I don't know who she is.
Roberto, the taxi driver, took us to a grocery store. He pointed this out to me and said that they only do this here. These are 2 big roasts that they keep carving off of all day.
We wanted to see the Lipizzaner Horse show, so we went to Lipica, Slovenia today, which was only a 25 minutes taxi ride. Roberto was a great taxi driver and very kind to us.
We visited the museum while there and Brian couldn't resist getting on the horse.
The oldest area of the horse stud farm. The stable is the building to the back.
Inside the stable.
A horse in the stable with the name sign.
The sign at this stable gives the horse's date of birth, name, mother's name and Father's name. They keep close records of all the lineages.
One of the horses.
Birds in the stable.
Although you think of these horses as white, they are actually more gray.
A few more of the horses.
The little church and a linden tree which is where the town and horse's name came from.
Inside the little church on the farm grounds.
Mares and a colt coming out to see us.
Mares, with their colts, which are born dark colors like brown and black. As they age most turn gray and white.
Mares and colts.
A sculpture in front of the horse show arena. The grounds here were very pretty.
We couldn't take photos in the show, so I took one of the billboard. We loved watching these beautiful horses go through their drills!
