Ajaccio (Corsica), France Photo Gallery
Ajaccio port area.
A ferry line named Moby, cute! This was docked beside us.
There's a local market close to the port. This is a meat stand with all kinds of sausages.
So many olives! I wish that I liked them, because they look so nice. Brian does like them.
Napoleon Bonaparte Lion Fountain-Corsica’s most famous son was Napoleon Bonaparte and this statue shows him dressed in a Roman yoga as First Consul.
A neon light imperial crown in honor of French Emperor Napoleon I suspended in the air above Ajaccio.
It was the 4th of July, so we opted for a beach day at Marinella Beach.
It was so pretty, but we didn't swim because of all the jellyfish in the water. See the man with a net? Many people were catching them and putting them in buckets.
My view at the beach!
These kids are looking for them, also. The guy in the background took a jetski ride, fell off, and got stung by a jellyfish on the leg.
One of the jellyfish left on the sands of the shore.
This umbrella was so pretty!
A swing and an umbrella, how nice!
Have you ever seen a paddleboat with a slide?
It was just a beautiful day!
We lounged under these umbrellas and had such a restful day at the beach.
The "Monument of the Resistance"-An inscription is engraved on the memorial plaque below the sculpture:
"Tribute to the resistance
1940-1945.
To those who gave their lives
for a free and French Corsica ".
The Hotel de Ville is the Ajaccio Town Hall and also houses the Salon napoléonien, which displays Napoleonic paintings, statues, and memorabilia.
A beautiful view of the city from the ship.
Another gorgeous view from the ship.
