Toulon, France Photo Gallery

We didn't get off the ship today, because we were exhausted from too many port days in a row. The ferry took people over to this area.
Fort de Six-Fours-It was built in the late 19th century to follow the Franco-Prussian War of 1870. Armed in the mid-1940s by the Germans during WWII, it is now used by the communications service of the French Navy.
I've never seen a crane drop or place a boat in the water before today. I saw this crane bring 2 different boats to the water.
Toulon is a big Navy port for France.

The Fort de l'Eguillette-Constructed between 1672 and 1680, at the end of the 17th century this fort provided effective protection for the port of Toulon, as well as for the shores of the Seyne.
Balaguier Fort-This 17th century fort was built to protect the entrance to Toulon harbour..
