It was my birthday this day and I choose to have a beach day. This is Misericordia Beach.
This is where we rented beach chairs and umbrellas. This partial walk to the beach was necessary as the sand got very hot.
Right beside where we sat was this industrial manufacturing chimney from the 19th century.
Another view of the beach that was very popular with the locals on this Saturday.
My daughter Alexia told me that I needed to try the grilled sardines, which they grill on the beach as you can see in this photo.
The cook gets the fire going and then skewers the sardines before adding the right touch of salt.
Here's my portion. They were good, but I didn't like the scales that got stuck in my teeth. In a video Elliot told me that he didn't like it.
My beach chair view from which I enjoy the sea breeze and the sound of waves. The water was pretty chilly, so just wading for me today.
Now I'm back on the ship and this is my view-beautiful!
This is the other direction, also beautiful! This beach was closer to the ship, so I thought it would be too crowded, but on this Saturday both were.
Misericordia Beach view from the ship as we sail away. It was a good day.
