Casablanca, Morocco Photo Gallery
We didn't stop at Rick's Cafe while here, but we did watch "Casablanca'" the movie after we got back on the ship.
The Hassan II Mosque-It is the second largest functioning mosque in Africa and is the 14th largest in the world. We did not go there, but I took this photo from the ship.
Zevaco Dome in the Place des Nations Unies (United Nations Square) and the gate to Old Medina.
The Casablanca Clock Tower also located in United Nations Square, the tower is a 1993 reproduction of one of the oldest French-built structures in the city from 1909.
Some street art we saw while walking around.
Walking through a neighborhood in the Old Medina area. The section we went through was quite dirty.
I was looking for beautiful features and found some here. I think it was a weaving house where they make carpets.
A souk (market area) in the Old Medina.
The clock tower on Mohammed V Square, which has had many different names over the years.
The Palace of Justice, built in 1923, at the Mohammed V Square.
Details on the Palace of Justice.
More details on the Palace of Justice.
And more details on the Palace of Justice-I love the beautiful architectural details here.
Mohammed V Square fountain nicknamed "Pigeon Fountain," and the Grand Theatre of Casablanca, the white building back center.
Casablanca Cathedral or Church of the Sacred Heart was constructed in 1930. The cathedral ceased its religious function in 1956, after the independence of Morocco. Now it's a cultural center.
The Bank Al-Maghrib, that we happened to walk by with many details on the facade.
The pigeons loved the facade of the bank, also.
An interesting architectural feature on this building.
