St. Nicolas' Church-Originally from 1275, it was dedicated to the seamens saint St. Nicolai. Ronne church is thought to be the only church in the world with a granite stone floor in the entire church.

Rønne Bag lighthouse-It stands on a hill right above the harbor basin. The tower is octagonal in shape and made of iron.
Rønne Bag lighthouse-The lighthouse was built in 1880 and operated until 1989, it served as a guiding light at the port entrance.

This is the Ceramic Museum.
At the museum learn about the journey from raw clay to products to purchase in the shop. The old factory from 1859 holds a great history and tradition.

There was a festival in town this day, so there were all kinds of food stands. I thought that these were photo worthy.

They also had a music stage with live music. This band was called Havz Jazz.

At the Bornholms Museum I watched a movie about the bombing and then Russian occupation after WWII. This is a before photo.
This is after the bombings of May 7 & 8, 1945. The Germans surrendered on May 9th and the war was over. Almost 8,000 troops from the Red Army arrived. At the same time 16-20,000 German soldiers and civilian refugees were evacuated.

Some rooms were set up for the time period of the war.
After the war there was an increase in prosperity, which was largely due to the U.S. aid. "Americanism" culture emerged and spread rapidly.
Andraes Kasper was an East German who escaped in an inflatable rubber raft like this during a holiday in Poland. He and some others that also fled here were granted asylum.
